Doesn’t mention anything about Data Propria, the CloudCommerce subsidiary, founded by former Cambridge Analytica director of product Matt Oczkowski, who still does data analytics for Parscale, and who led the embedded CA Project Alamo team in 2016. propublica.org/article/the-my…
I suspect most political reporters are all-in on the trope that CA was hype and snake oil, a mere Facebook privacy scandal, fines issued, shut down, case closed, old news. Never mind a criminal conviction in UK and the pending ICO report on seized servers. wired.com/story/data-pro…
Data Propria is right there in the SEC 10k filing. Oz is a key man in Parscale’s operation. Readers would appreciate knowing who has carried over from 2016. A piece on myth making strenuously avoiding CA seems incomplete to me. sec.gov/Archives/edgar… 
I know I harp on this but the article positions “microtargeting” as dubious and so nary a mention of that company which must not be named but then the big scoop that folks get from the piece is that the RNC is withholding “voter scores” — <exhales> —
The data privacy reform conversation in the US has been reframed as a data rights debate. Voters in our country don’t have an enforceable right to see our own voter scores, especially if our data is not processed in a country with data rights such as the UK, as it was in 2016.
If the #VoterPrivacyAct was passed (I know…I know…) it would mean that the RNC and DNC and all the PACs and shady-ass analytics shops on both sides of the aisles would be obligated to send everyone their voter files proactively. Think about that. #DataRights
