A related scandal is a media one: the reason why many have no idea is because this POV has been censored from media outlets, including progressive ones. E.g. @democracynow , which has effectively banned critics of US-backed proxy war in Syria & instead promoted its apologists.
It is easy to point out & mock the regime change trolls on Twitter. They deserve it. But I’m more concerned with the culture of media cowardice, from people in influential perches, that has censored dissenting (and actually factual) voices on the US-backed proxy war in Syria.
.@theintercept deserves mention here too. Their Syria coverage, with only a few exceptions, is a form of self-parody. An outlet founded on adversarial reporting has instead degenerated into apologia for a catastrophic US-backed proxy war. It’s sad.
