Pundits should talk about the effect on morale caused by Trump ordering Barr on a witch hunt to persecute anyone who ever investigated his Russian ties. Would you risk your life for a country that might let a rogue leader bring you up on false charges for doing your job?
Nancy's DC bubble world thinks all of this, the safety, security, prosperity, is inevitable, it just happens automatically, and she can break the pillars holding it all up as much as she wants, nothing will change. She's angry, in a petty way, at even being asked about it.
Deciding that this president gets to do all the crimes he wants, and even have open co-conspirators like a senate leader saying they'd never convict no matter the evidence, isn't a decision to let everything continue status quo. It's a slide into pure chaos.
How would you feel, being on Barr's enemies list for having done your job of investigating a Russian attack on America, when the civilian oversight that's supposed to protect you is getting high praise from the man targeting you?
Because these are serious national security crimes, and crimes against humanity, not made-up scandals, it matters to real people, sometimes innocent children, sometimes random people, sometimes people vital to this nation's security, if you let him keep doing the crimes.
