A little over an hour ago reports started coming out of #SaudiArabia of a large explosion at an Aramco compound in #Buqayq. Videos of large fires in an industrial area with gunfire audible in the background soon emerged on social media.

Several of these videos seem to validate the claim that the explosion happened at the Aramco compound. As of right now the cause of the explosion is still unknown.
The first video shows one of the explosions from the vantage point of a parking lot nearby. Bursts of gunfire are audible in the distance.

A second video filmed from the same parking lot shows another large explosion.

Both videos are filmed from across the street from the Aramco compound and are facing South/South-East

This video shows a new perspective, albeit from further away. The fires appear larger than in previous videos but no explosions are audible.

I have confirmed the exact location in a residential area West of the Aramco compound but will not be sharing it due to privacy concerns.
A video filmed from a car driving on King Abdulaziz Rd shows another long-distance perspective from West of the explosions.

Wrap-up about what I saw on Granville St today, as ProHK and ProChina demonstrators faced off, once again.
ProHK organizers kept it very tight: the demonstration lasted a little over an hour.
Both sides had people out in force, tho ProHK had a bigger crowd today./2 #freeHongKong
2) with their people on the west side of Granville stretching from West 16th Avenue to Angus Drive.
I counted about 20 @VancouverPD officers in attendance, with more showing up about midway through the rally. The master of ceremonies thanked the @RCMP for coming, /3 #FreeHongKong
3) though I didn’t note any uniformed officers there. All police seemed to be distributed equally along both sides of Granville Street.
Crowds really didn’t have a chance to get into each other’s faces because...6 lanes of traffic.

Interesting.. a British tanker in the Persian Gulf has come to a complete stop. Would expect it to start heading south but as of now it's completely stopped.

Boat is the PACIFIC VOYAGER, image of the ship and it's location compared to Iran seen below.
Don't panic or anything, I'm going to monitor this until it makes another movement.
#UPDATE: Boat still stopped, it's status is officially stopped instead of underway using engine. It's at 0.5 knts as of now.

Here's a quick tale from my neck of the woods, just because it's a good 'un and it speaks to how, often enough, we just keep going, regardless of the 'big things' happening around us. It concerns the village of Shillington, in Bedfordshire. /1
Now, Shillington is a very lovely, very old place. It's named after a Saxon who came to live there around the 6th century. It's had a church for over a millennia. In the 18th & 19th centuries, it was called 'Shittington' because coprolites (dinosaur poop) were the main trade. /2
Right, so the thing about Shillington is, like many Bedfordshire villages, it's just kept plugging along for centuries, regardless of what's happening elsewhere. People do their own thing, even during times of national strife, like the English Civil War. /3

Dungeons & Dragons, explained:
A little over a year ago, I started listening to the @DnDPodcast on a whim, just to learn what it was about. I'd heard about Dungeons & Dragons but didn't really understand how it worked, or how a game could exist only in the players' imaginations.
I immediately fell in love with the idea of it, but obviously had nobody to play it with.

I mentioned it to @byrdala at a work happy hour, and she told me she'd played once before and might be down to try again.
