Gay genes? Yeah, but no, well kind of… but, so what?
wiringthebrain.com/2014/03/gay-ge… (I wrote this a few years ago but very relevant to latest GWAS, which doesn't really change the overall picture)
One important point re the GWAS findings and associated media coverage: variance in sexual orientation is only partly genetic but that does not mean that the non-genetic components are necessarily environmental or experiential in origin
Much of that variance could be due to stochastic developmental variation - differences in the outcome of brain development that arise even in monozygotic twins.
