Tim Farron, David Cameron, this really is a weekend for the memories.
Seeing Farron address the Lib Dem conference is helpful for the party. It reminds them of how woeful their fortunes were when he was leading them (not entirely his fault) and how far, in such a short time, they've come. #LDConf
Farron says it's "mission accomplished" being "restored" to their place as the third party of British politics. Errrrrr...
What do you reckon @NicolaSturgeon @theSNP?
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP Farron: "We have got to start talking about the possibility of Prime Minister @joswinson."
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP @joswinson This is a problem for the Lib Dems, it always has been. No-one will believe that that is a possibility. They will have to choose who they support after the election and if they're serious about getting a referendum, unless Johnson's policy changes fundamentally, it'll be Corbyn.
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP @joswinson But the admission of ever increasing numbers of ex-Labour MPs who left Labour precisely because of Corbyn makes that a) more difficult to admit and b) more difficult to execute. But it is, likely, what many LD voters will expect.
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP @joswinson Now the parties new MEPs (and its sole old one, Catherine Bearder) take to the stage. Reminder of the party's stonking achievement to come second (from nowhere) at the Euros. They've had an extraordinary year.
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP @joswinson But it is odd: they're all wearing t-shirts saying "Stop Brexit". The party and the rest of the anti-Brexit forces in Parliament had a chance to do so in voting for an election. They declined. There is a scenario to all this where that looks like a terrible error.
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP @joswinson .@guyverhofstadt: "We all know Brexit is not working. Why is it not working? Well simply because it's a bad idea. I won't say the worst idea in British history but very near." #LDConf
@NicolaSturgeon @theSNP @joswinson @guyverhofstadt .@guyverhofstadt: "I think that even Margaret Thatcher would be expelled from the Conservative Party now."
