So let me get this straight. The position of the PM is that he has not prorogued politically, that it’s absurd anyone suggests he has done so, it’s all about the need for a Queen’s Speech.

Yet...they’re considering proroguing politically. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7…
The first time they had a reason to do it which might hold up in front of the Supreme Court. Unless they rule the govt can prorogue whenever it wants for whatever it reason it wants, this won’t hold up.
Consider the implications of that. A future government is about to lose a VONC, or lose on a key piece of legislation and the government could just prorogue it for as long as it likes to avoid its will.

Would be seriously dangerous territory.
In which case, the verdict of the SC this week goes far beyond Brexit and is instead a fundamental judgement on the nature of the relationship between our executive and legislature: which of the two has the ultimate upper hand.
I imagine the palace is extremely spooked by these whispers. Was told last week they were extremely irked by recent developments. They will know better than anyone how delicate- yet powerless- the Queen's position is.
If a no deal took place by virtue of a second prorogation, the monarchy would be deeply undermined.
