Was at @VRBengaluru today, and while I was waiting for a friend to join me for lunch, I thought I'd try some beverage at Keventers. But the cashier informed me that I could not pay by cash or credit card. Instead, I would need to buy a mall cash card first, & use funds from that.
@VRBengaluru I don't go to this mall more than once a year or so, and I decided it wasn't worth my while to leave extra cash lying around on a card I may not use, or even end up losing. Maybe that was the point - to get people to fork over money that they would never spend.
@VRBengaluru I've had this experience in other places too. Odd that retailers adopt policies that work against themselves, driving customers away. At a time when everything in a store shelf is available on wheels, the retail experience should be improving dramatically to hold market share.
