So I see another NYT writer has a history of offensive and bigoted social media postings. None of these people can live up to the standards they set for others in launching their outrage mobs so they can’t be surprised when others try to hold them to those standards.
The same people who just celebrated a comedian being fired from SNL for some offensive jokes are going to have an interesting time defending a NYT fact-checker’s history of similarly offensive postings.
Looks like the same NYT fact-checker didn’t think the outrage mob going after @Shanemgillis was a big deal.

Maybe @jeanuh_ will rethink that view now that people are trying to hold her to the same standard.
If she thinks it’s no big deal that he gets fired for past offensive and bigoted comments then it shouldn’t be a big deal if the same thing happens to her, right?

Bc people just aren’t going to accept two sets of standards. Either stop the mobs or be prepared to face them.
I know which route I prefer. I don’t much care about this person’s tweets from years ago (unless there is a reason to believe they haven’t grown since), but I also don’t want targets of media-inspired outrage mobs to be held to a different standard than those going after them.
May I suggest that instead of deleting, we acknowledge people learn and grow over time, concede such growth is not newsworthy, and then apply that standard to everyone else?

Outrage mobs are a much bigger problem than your past tweets.
