I came to Washington in 1993 to join the Clinton Administration. I have worked with and around many of the current leaders of the party. I have much respect for them. It is time for a change. 2020 must be not only a watershed for the US but for the Democratic Party.
New challenges, a new political reality, a new media reality, the urgency of defeating not just Trump but Trumpism...and the necessity of undoing forty years of both parties serving the top 1% and big corporations at the expense of everyone else...demand the change.
Many of these leaders have served with distinction. They deserve respect. But their time is over. Daily they demonstrate they are out of touch and not up to the demands of this era. If we Democrats do not make these changes, we will lose, fail our constituents & the country.
