Fascinating that America is the only developed economy on the planet earth that does not provide healthcare to all its citizens and yet there are a substantial number of supposedly enlightened "centrist" Dems who argue it can't be done. Everyone does it. But it can't be done.
The quality of our healthcare is less than in these countries. Many have far better fiscal records than we do. In fact, they have all proven healthcare for all is the only practical, cost-effective way to care for their societies. It is more "realistic" than our system.
American healthcare punishes the poor, bankrupts the middle class and serves best only the rich. When Elizabeth Warren pointed out individuals would pay less out of pocket for healthcare for all, they complained she didn't note some taxes would rise.
They said that was "a dodge." But the "dodge" is not noting acknowledging her key point...that at the end of the year people would have more in their pockets and be healthier and more secure. She is the realist. Believing our system is sustainable or humane is the fantasy.
