2/ In the emerging story of Trump’s attempt to conscript the new president of the Ukraine into a plot to discredit former VP Joe Biden and his only remaining son, we find yet another clumsy, stupid and vicious piece of mob-boss behavior by our - God help us - Commander in Chief.
3/We are collapsing into autocracy.
4/To all patriots: heed the words of the poet Dylan Thomas: “Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, Rage against the dying of the light.”
5/Trump is, in Jesus’ words, “ A liar and a follower of the Father of lies.” There is no truth in him.
6/Such is Trump’s progress in destroying our liberty that we have to piteously hope that someday we will be allowed to find out what the hell he is actually doing.
7/...But if and when Trump's treason is disclosed, and he actually extorted a foreign leader to give him dirt on Joe Biden to use in a campaign to keep himself in power, then he must be impeached.
8/If Pelosi keeps her stance, then she must lose her speakership. Our Constitution is at stake.
9/If Republicans running for re-election keep defending this treasonous jerk, or, worse, keep remaining silent, they need to be given an electoral heave-ho.
10/God, this man is awful. Considering the babies in cages, the stupid wall, the deliberately destroyed families, the horrendously corrupt and larcenous response to the suffering in Puerto Rico, the evisceration of whole cabinet departments, the environmental depredations . . .
11/Getting rid of Trump over this latest episode of his abuse of power is like finally jailing the murderer Al Capone on tax evasion. I’ll take it, but a better country would jail this jerk for crimes against humanity.
12/A final question for Repubs and the Boys of Wall Street: all this treason and cruelty is fine with you as long as we have a bubble in the Stock Market? Destroy honor and freedom for your damned portfolio? Seriously?
13/ Here’s a concept I encourage R’s and others in the portfolio-adoring class to struggle with until you finally grasp it: the existence of other people.
