Some voters won't see a weak PM. They'll see one man lined up against parliament, judges & Remain. Downing St has certainly miscalculated but fast forward to an election & it's not hard to see how all of this is used to do the one thing Johnson needs for a majority: unite Leavers
It's the #Brexit equivalent of Braveheart's "unite the clans"
If Johnson unites Cons + Brexit Party while Remainers stay divided between Lab & resurgent Lib Dems, then it's not even close. Big majority. But of course in Braveheart one side ended up screwing the other so...
(And almost nobody in this scenario is Scottish).

Twitter has spent a month laughing at Johnson & Cummings

Yet here's another (12 pt) poll lead for the Conservatives

Of the last 40 polls Labour have not led in 1

Their last lead outside the margin of error was in July

What if the strategy is working?

Some of our members turned to the demo organised by People’s Assembly tonight in order to support our local MP @ChrisM4Chester. Apparently it was a success overall. However I am told one of the other speakers made some incorrect statements about us, Chester for Europe /thread
1. We are not affiliated to any political party. We have members and key organisers who are members or supporters of Labour, Lib Dems, Green Party and yes even Conservatives. There is a big number of us who are not members of any party and have no intention of being.
We are ordinary members of the community who have been driven to political activism in many cases for the first time in our lives by the disgust and anger we feel at the direction the country has gone in. We are the people too and we will express our will too.

Parliament’s current impasse is the culmination of a domestic political failure to solve an trilemma which has, in various forms, been left unresolved since the UK’s first attempt to join the then European Economic Community (EEC) in 1961.

A THREAD:
The PM and the Brexit negotiations process have determined that parliament must choose between a maximum two of three options: 1) customs and regulatory alignment with Europe; 2) no hard border with Ireland, and; 3) an all-UK solution.

These same red lines arose 60 years ago.
The move towards Europe began in 1959 when both Britain and Ireland both decided to establish diplomatic relations with the EEC. However, there were fears in Dublin that the EEC might approve the UK application but reject Ireland’s owing to its as yet under-developed economy.
