Anonymous accusation against a Republican goes viral. Dems, NeverTrump go apoplectic, demand hearings. Exculpatory evidence ignored. Vague accusations don’t pass muster but weaponized anyway. Accuser turns out to be a partisan with a grudge.
Legal team tied to Democratic Party.
If the whistleblower says Trump threw ice, drank a beer and groped Mick Mulvaney, I think we might be on to something

Since the media won’t mention CrowdStrike, here’s my backgrounder on the private firm Trump mentioned in his call to Zelensky.

CrowdStrike is a Dem-connected company that is the ONLY source of the Russia-hacked-DNC-server claim: amgreatness.com/2019/09/25/ukr…
Despite “multiple” requests, according to Comey, to access the server, the DNC refused. (Don’t try that at home.)

Instead, Perkins Coie hired CrowdStrike on behalf of DNC to examine the server. (Yes careful reader—the same law firm that hired Fusion!)

That was my original question. I was vaguely aware of the name “James Woolsey.” I knew he was CIA director once. Seen him interviewed a couple times on cable news. That was the sum of my knowledge.

So I started digging. And kept digging...and digging….and digging….

1. These are my thoughts without having watched a single minute of television news yesterday and last night. I relied on Twitter and the web exclusively throughout Election Night.
2. First, the obvious: there was no Blue Wave or Red Wave. Democrats flipped the House and won governorships in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania (among others); Republican added seats in the Senate and won high-profile governors’ races in Florida, Georgia, and Ohio.
3. The number of seats lost by Republicans in the House was statistically normal for an off-year election when a president’s party historically loses seats. For example, Republicans lost 26 seats in 1982 when Reagan was president:

1) Post Midterm Analysis – 7 November 2018

I can't believe how wrong I was. I honestly thought - foolish me - that I'd be SO upset if we lost the House, which I clearly feared we might.
2) My own deeply qualified prediction was we'd keep it by one or two, and that losing it by so little as one would have dire consequences. I suspect, though, that beyond the obvious and so-bad control of committees and the ugliness I still do project...
3) I have close to zero negative emotion this morning. That really surprises me!

I absolutely hate losing, no kidding. I've always said, show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser. But, I feel like precisely that today, a good loser. And I'm starting to unpack why.

1. There has been a LOT of consternation among Republican stalwart voters after a week-long FBI investigation into the (scurrilous) allegations against Judge Kavanaugh was announced. today
2. And of course, we have been deluged with TV interviews of jubilant Democrats and their media enablers since them too. Republican voters detect the standard Republican senate leadership capitulation to Democrat political pressure for the umpteenth time.
3. I’m going to postulate an alternative theory because I find conventional wisdom to be suspicious – and frequently wrong!
