Sorry I got so excited that they were asked about courts I hit send with no context. The Q was, would you support a plan to add justices to SCOTUS to protect Roe v. Wade:
- Biden: No, would focus on nominees committed to the right to privacy re: abortion
- Buttigieg: Open to adding justices, need to depoliticize the court, open to various reform ideas
- Castro: Not adding justices, open to other reform ideas like term limits or having judges cycle in from the appeals courts

This is part of a larger effort by groups on the left to get 2020 candidates talking about courts, see: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
The group says it didn't notify or consult in advance with the people included on the list, which includes sitting judges, civil rights lawyers, law profs, and public officials (already heard from one who confirmed they didn't know until it was released this morning)
The Very Big Question is: Will any of the Democrats running for president try to match Trump's successful strategy from 2016 of releasing their own SCOTUS shortlist? Demand Justice thinks they should, but other legal advocates on the left aren't so sure: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…

- The court denied the Texas AG's request to participate in arguments next month on DACA as an amicus party on behalf of a group of Republican state AGs/officials

#REDFLAG: After a setback in the Supreme Court, Trump asks his lawyers if he can DELAY THE CENSUS

The census is constitutionally-mandated to begin in April 2020, under Article I, Section 2.

Trump is asking if he can IGNORE the Constitution b/c he doesn't like a SCOTUS decision.
#RELATED: The Supreme Court ruled against the Trump Administration's proposal to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census...for now.

It would've led to a severe undercount, which would've rigged elections and resources in favor of white Republicans.
#HUGEWIN: The Trump Administration will begin printing the 2020 Census WITHOUT the citizenship question.

After missing their deadline, some feared Trump may actually try to defy the Constitution and the law.

This is an incredible victory for democracy!
