Kashmiri political leaders have repeatedly endorsed anti-Ahmadi hate. Ahmadi Muslims in Kashmir were recently also banned from going for Hajj. Hurriyat leader Mir Waiz claimed in a recent speech that he wouldn’t let Ahmadis live in comfort in Kashmir. 1/3
This is not to take away from the fact that Kashmiris are subject to human rights violations by Indian Army. Nor to take away from the fact that Kashmir deserves the right to self-determination. 2/3
This is just to counter the notion that Kashmiri Muslim leaders are champions of religious freedom & human rights. They are bigots in their own ways and share the blame for Kashmir’s problems. They are no champions. 3/3
