Looking at various economic indicators comparing India vs Pakistan over last 6 decades.
1. Pakistan & India had same amount of exports in the 1960s. But then the lines diverge quickly. The gap today is huge.

2. Foreign Exchange Reserves: The two countries also had similar foreign exchange reserves till the 1970s. But then, India just took off. No comparison today.
3. Inflation: Pakistan's Rupee was stronger than India's in the 1960s. Now India's is almost twice as strong.
4. GDP: This should've been in the start. Notice how India's GDP has steeply been rising. India, today, is the world's #6 largest economy (by GDP ranking).
5. Health outcomes. Pakistan had higher life expectancy for the whole of the 20th century.
6. Access to safe drinking water. Again, more resources and focus on improving this metric in India.
7. In terms of literacy, Pakistan is the second lease literate country in the world, outside of Africa.
8. Infant Mortality Rate: Pakistan is sadly the worst in the world in infant mortality. Note that it was ahead of India in the 1950s.
In short, it is time for us Pakistanis to introspect & learn where we went wrong. While our neighbors were busy building a solid economy, we were busy making Pakistan a pious Sunni Republic.
