1. I want to remind folks of something that I don't think is generally known. The federal election crimes that Trump just committed (and admitted to) were violations of 52 USC 30121(a)(2). Mueller examined 52 USC 30121(a)(1) that criminalizes foreign conduct
2. and analyzed it from the perspective of whether Trump's campaign conspired to commit the Russians' violations. He sort of punted on the 30121(a)(2) subsection that addresses the US candidates criminal conduct for soliciting, receiving or accepting the illegal thing of value.
3. Trump Tower was analyzed and Mueller, in my view, punted saying he could not tell if it was over $25,000 for the felony violation and primarily said the willfulness element may not be met because Trump's campaign didn't know it was a crime. I think that's baloney but
4. that's what the report concluded. But there was another "solicited, received or accepted" violation that Mueller analyzed and that was almost entirely redacted as an ongoing investigation. The DC US district court has to release that immediately.
