Why do Indian Institutes of TECHNOLOGY need humanities & "social sciences" departments?

One look at faculties' research interests reveals the same divisive agenda & atrocity studies that plagues leftist snakepits such as JNU & TISS.

We must stop nurturing anti-India forces.
In the IITs today, you'll find:

- Million-dollar, state-of-the-art washrooms & conference halls

- Flourishing, well-funded humanities departments

- Obsolete, two-decade-old equipment in the science/tech labs

We're sacrificing science at the altar of anti-India humanities.
India's education system needs radical reforms.

It needs to:

-- Serve & empower the true stakeholders - the students.

-- Cut out the entrenched rent-seekers.

-- Focus on science & research.

Humanities research must be science-based & evidence-based, not opinion-based.
I am all for exposing IIT students to a wide range of subjects: languages, philosophy, history and more.

Stock the libraries with relevant books & let students pursue such interests on their own time.

However IITs should offer only science & tech degrees.
Unbelievable. The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) offers Ph.D.s in topics like:

"Troubling Gender"
"Contesting Identity"
"Adivasis"
"Women Studies"
"Gender and Caste"
etc.

Waste of taxpayer money much?

Meet Rowena Robinson, professor of sociology, IIT Bombay.

Among her research interests: conversion, Christianity in India, "minority rights", "caste claims", Christian mission in India.

Why is this person employed by the IIT?

Meet Suryakant Waghmore, associate professor of sociology, IIT Bombay.

Research interests: social exclusion, "marginalized groups", institutionalized deprivation, "caste & violence", dalit politics, "Hinduism" ...

And the list goes on.

Why does the Government of India invest enormous amounts of taxpayer money into leftist, colonial anti-India atrocity research?

Can't this money be better used elsewhere?
Good move: India debars its universities from entering into cooperation agreements with Chinese institutions without prior approval.

Pointless, though, until India acts against the countless Chinese & Pakistan agents in its own humanities departments.
