So First the rules of succession. If Trump is impeached by the House but not convicted by the Senate, he remains as President (like Bill Clinton). Only if we get 20 Republican Senators to vote to convict Trump, will Trump be ousted. I have said we'll get 20+

Succession is defined in the Constitution. If President is impeached (or dies or removed or unable) then Vice President becomes POTUS. If both POTUS & Veep are out, then HOUSE SPEAKER (Nancy Pelosi) becomes President. Yes. Those are the rules. Pelosi MIGHT get it

The ONLY leverage Mitch McTurtle has, is the SENATE Vote. It is crumbling by the day (already 2 GOP have abandoned Trump. We need 20). If the McTurtle can CONTROL the Senate Vote he has LEVERAGE, but if 20 GOP Senators want Trump out, Mitch has no leverage at all

Mitch McTurtle COULD have replaced Pence with a 'safe' and strong Republican Veep, when he held both houses of Congress. Say Paul Ryan, Condi Rice etc. Someone NOT TAINTED by Trump and strong enough not to fall into his corruption. That ship sailed Nov 2018

A new Veep confirmation needs simple majority in both chambers of Congress. Simple majority. Because DEMs hold majority in House, Mitch McConnell cannot force ANY REPUBLICAN, however moderate, to be new Veep replacing Pence

Because PELOSI will be POTUS, unless a compromise candidate is found - Mitch has to accept 'any other Democrat' that is not Pelosi herself !!! That Veep can be any US born person over age 35. It COULD BE Hillary Clinton haha, or Joe Biden
