1. Varadkar and Johnson meeting underway - lots of possible outcomes but it could be an enormous moment in this whole process
2. If Varadkar and Johnson can't find any common cause today then surely even the most optimistic people (not that many left in all of this) in this process have to accept a deal next week, and this month is pretty much out of the question
3. If the talks crash today it's also possible that the PM might decide not to go to the summit next week at all
4. That would be provocative to say the least - it's also possible that both leaders come out and say blandly, it's difficult but let's just keep trying
