PM has just spoken to Macron - hear the 2 men both acknowledged there was positive momentum towards getting a deal done and avoiding delays but lots of hurdles to overcome still
Like last time, sounds like France less keen on extending the process again compared to some other member states - in theory, that might be helpful to UK, altho last time round, Macron agreed with the others to extend again
Bit more on Macron/Johnson call - understand France is reluctant to have another delay but the President raised possibility of technical extension

1. As we head to Brussels, there is a draft deal on the table that does 2 things the PM was told couldn't be done - whole UK leaves the customs union, with some special arrangements for Northern Ireland, but there is an exit mechanism
2. There is a BUT of giant proportions - the DUP is not on board, they have a simple concern that the proposed way out of the non backstop-backstop (it needs a better name than special arrangements, ideas anyone? I heard 'safety net' a while ago) gives too much power to Sinn Fein
3. Their fear is that nationalist community could vote to keep NI tied more closely to EU against the Unionists wishes for years to come - some people will accuse them of wilful stubborness, but the concerns are genuine that it's not a deal they can sell to their voters at home

1. What a strange day - Queen’s Speech normally a huge day, this year is basically a warm up for a Tory manifesto because very unlikely any of the measures will pass
2. Govt announces Budget will be Nov 6th - normally also a big deal, expect it might not be then if there is no deal, or indeed if we are already into an election campaign which is also possible
3. Meanwhile it’s all over shadowed by whether there can be a deal with EU in time -

1. Downing Street staying v tightlipped for now after the talks - hear the meeting was a constructive 2.5 hours, and at the end Varadkar and Johnson went for a walk round the grounds one on one
2. From the tone of the statement seems there's been a bit of progress, but may well only have been stepping a few inches towards each other, when they started miles apart - but the process is rolling on, rather than coming crashing to a halt - Varadkar should be speaking soon
3. If today’s talks mean negotiators go into the ‘tunnel’ that would be a big deal .... Altho it is still extremely hard to see how this results in an actual agreement this month (if ever)

Effectively -despite all the noise - the state of #Brexit negotiations has NOT really changed in last three days or so:
i) Much as there is huge political will in EU to get Brexit deal done.. /1
EU leaders do NOT want to be hurried into making a new deal to fit Boris Johnson’s timetable. Has to be something they can live with - that doesn’t cause potential probs for single market/ NIreland peace process in years to come /2
ii) This is very difficult to ‘fudge’! EU demanding not ‘good intentions’ as to how single market and peace process should be safeguarded on island of Ireland after Brexit but rather a ‘legally operative text’ /3

Irish deputy PM Simon Coveney, speaking in Brussels after meeting Michel Barnier: 'There are still significant gaps between both sides. Until there's a serious proposal in writing that can be the basis for a negotiation then the gaps that are wide at the moment will remain...
...and time is running out. We need to move this process on but really the onus is on the British PM and his team to allow that to happen by putting serious proposals on the table that the EU can then negotiate around to try and find a way of getting a deal done.'
Q: Are EU leaders sympathetic to another extension? Coveney: 'The focus is on trying to get a deal. From an Irish perspective we of course think an extension is preferable to No Deal but I think there would need to be good reason behind that ask for an extension.'

Macron's "European renaissance" op-ed (elysee.fr/emmanuel-macro…) illustrates several important things about the traits & circumstances of the upcoming European election campaign:
1. Almost every proposal concerns shielding or cushioning EU citizens from threats. Macron purports to offer non-nationalist solutions to the insecurity driving nationalist populism. The EP election campaign will be contest between different visions of a protective Europe.
2. Most of the proposals speak to a Europe caught between an unpredictable US, malign Russia, aggressive China & demographically churning Africa. A Europe that agrees these pose challenges but is long way off comprehensive, united responses to any of them. Much still to debate.

Time to really dig in now... the Panama Papers are actually one of three investigations encompassing Panama, Paradise, and Bahamas leaks including a database called the Offshore Leaks naming names and proving IDs. ICIJ has pulled quite the website togehter showcasing all of this.
In the Panama Papers, we're talking about 11.5 million documents amounting to 2.6 terabytes of data that identify 140 politicians from more than 50 countries... all connected to offshore companies in 21 tax havens. In June, another 1.2 million files were released, this is HUGE!
In the Panama Papers we learn of two lawyers named Mossack & Fonseca who ran a global money laundring & tax evasion facilitation program. In Panama, Lundgren is most known as an intermediary. Without his "godfather" in office, he is now ordered to close his securities company.

He checks the bathroom but there is no sign of the younger.

Failing to have his call picked up,
he sends a text and starts to feel anxious.

Did Kyungsoo run away?

He opens the closet and finds their bags with their wallets inside. It means the other only has his phone with him.

And he's not answering any calls and texts.

He's seriously getting worried.
If before, he could contact his cousin and ask of his whereabouts, right now he doesn't have anyone to turn to.

Just then the door opens, revealing a drenched Kyungsoo. The younger just stands there, at the doorway with a bashful smile.

"What happened to you? Why are you wet?"
