Canadian followers... What happens if neither the Liberals nor the Conservatives get the majority of seats? Will Singh decide the next PM?
OK, I am hearing very different versions here.
A. Whoever can scramble together a majority coalition (likely, Trudeau, with Singh's help) will be the PM.
B. However gets the plurality (likely, Scheer) will be the (powerless) PM.
Which one is true?
And whatever it is, I hope Canada's young, forward-thinking, analytics-powered, Don-Cherry-denouncing hockey media doesn't get to decide, because this would mean Putin takes over, one way or another.

I am really loving it how North American media is taking LeBron to task over China. This shows me that sports writers here aren't only "sticking to sports" and can indeed criticize athletes for questionable political choices.

Because, you know, an open advocacy and outright promotion of a ruthless dictator who is an enemy of the United States and has violated America's sovereignty is pretty much on a vastly different level from whatever it is LeBron is doing. A very different level.

Passing some Canadian in a scoring stat category.

Crickets on anything else. Hockey media should be ashamed of itself. Their fear of losing access is crippling their professionalism.

In Russia, they call it The Meat Fence. Never has this term been more appropriate.
Look at the bimbo on the extreme right (in every sense). Look at that facial expression. Giddy merriment, orgasmic joy, boundless adoration. All at an angry old man spouting anti-scientific anti-environmental nonsense in a place under constant environmental threat.

Interesting results from the Danish elections #fv19 As expected Danish People's Party (hard right ) collapsed. Some appears to have gone to three new parties (on harder right still), some to conseravtives and some to the social democrats, who have v much moved onto DPP's turf...
Quite disappointing for social democrats who had hoped to do better, not least after compromising so much on DPP agenda. Still thanks to green gains they will go into government..
In terms of dealing with far right, internalising their agenda has been quite effective. But then, they've just popped up somewhere in another form, elsewhere, even further to the right than the DPP were...

We know, or think we know, what the various Plan A's are: the WA, the Malthouse Compromise, the permanent customs union 'with a say', Norway plus. The chances of this Parliament agreeing to any of them look slim. 2/

Things that surprised/amazed me about Japan, an ongoing thread.

1. A very friendly immigration officer and I laughed together, and when I said “I don’t really know where I’ll be staying,” he actually applauded it.
2. Very nice and clean train from the airport, with power sockets, and vending machines onboard.

Tons of solar panels passed by on the way.
