I have an alarm system that notifies the authorities if triggered and not disarmed. I frequently wonder whether that could mistakenly be the end of me or a guest who can’t disarm it.

iPhone can automatically call 911. A black friend butt-dialed it & called to cancel the alert. Police said they have to respond once an alert gets sent.

If I were home alone and you told me the police had been notified that there was an intruder in my house ... I really don’t know what I could do at that point to ensure my safety ...
Look, if the police were tying to inspect my home because of a possible intruder, maybe that’s the case where I’d call other police ... and ask them to radio in and tell the police at my home not to shoot me ...
Ironically, frantically calling the police about being afraid of being shot by the police would be used to justify a police shooting ... “they were unstable” ... “what did they have to hide?” ... “why didn’t they just open the door?” ... etc.
