I have both praised and criticized every single one of the top six candidates.
Yet, no matter how many times I may have praised a candidate, when I issue a criticism, it sends some of their supporters racing to unfollow or block.

I’m sure those supporters think they’re somehow helping their candidate by being loyalists to the point of shunning criticism.
For me though, the more supporters like that a candidate has, the less I like the candidate.
I hold it against the candidate.

Strong candidates are strong because of the totality of who they are - not because their base wards off too close an inspection.
The less a candidate’s supporters can handle rational criticism, the less rational I find their support.
Maybe that’s just me.
