So a few months ago I tweeted about this rainbow fur coat from @plusequalsuk & one of my followers offered to get it for me. There was a delay when the company was out of the fabric but today, in the midst of #twerkwithlizzo media stuff, I got it in the mail! #plusequals
I own a lot of ridiculous amazing things but this might be the most ridiculous amazing thing of all. I can’t wait to wear it all fall and as far into winter as Wisconsin weather will allow me! Madison isn’t ready for this fabulousness!

All day we have heard spin from EU sources repeated on BBC and Sky that the reaction May got in Salzburg was somehow because of something that May did at that summit or because of something they read about. Few thoughts on this: 👇
1) people have said it was May's uncompromising Welt op-ed that went down badly. But I've re-read it & honestly struggle to see that. In fact in some respects it was as honest as the Government has ever been - saying Brexit will mean fewer rights & less access to single market
2) then I thought perhaps I was missing something in the German so I asked @LeopoldTraugott to translate a bit and read it himself again. But although @theresa_may continues to make her usual points it was hardly a massive insult.

Some postdoc called him out on what was obviously an outrageous statement: . This picked up a paltry 9 likes. /2
Now today more data comes out: stanfordmlgroup.github.io/competitions/m… Guess what… the “deep learning” method sucks. It’s much worse than the radiologists. No way @AndrewYNg is trusting his own diagnoses to this algorithm. /3

1/ A few months ago I tweeted a quote from Jordan Peterson that I felt summed up the politcal-economic tradeoff quite nicely: "Innovation is paid for with inequality."
2/ Now, I have come to believe that this tradeoff is mistaken. The mistake's origin, I believe, lies in conflating economic equality and economic mobility, or at least in thinking that these are positively correlated, when in fact the opposite holds more truth.
3/ These two passages from @nntaleb, the first from Skin in the Game and the second from The Black Swan turned my worldview on this topic upside down.
