Extinction Rebellion is a modern, decentralised, leaderless, networked, grassroots, networked organisation.

If elements within it do things other elements don’t like, there’s not a structure that can even say “NO” and stop it.
Stopping Tube trains looks ridiculous to me.

But this is basically the tyranny of structurelessness.

But the very reason XR exists and can be powerful is precisely a reaction against staid and structured organisations.
Have a read of work by @zeynep (especially what she wrote about Gezi Park), and @SrdjaPopovic and @carneross on leaderless movements.
