A few thing to remember about Doral: this is not not like a lot of Trump properties, where he is just the manager or the brand. He owns Doral and he borrowed heavily to acquire it.
A number of other banks wouldn't issue that loan but, as @davidenrich has reported, Deutsche Bank took a circuitous route to approving $125 million toward it. Trump still carries that loan.

@davidenrich @Fahrenthold Hosting the G7, even if it's only at cost, will showcase the property to television viewers literally around the world as a place where the most powerful men and women in the world come to congregate. You cannot buy press like that.
@davidenrich @Fahrenthold In the meantime, will anyone who hasn't already opposed Trump's business dealings while in office stand up and say something? Will any Rs join the emoluments lawsuits? Will any of the attorneys Trump Org hired to approve it conduct say anything?
