Amazing from #Newsnight. A Commons that is by all estimates evenly split, and they have three MPs who have declared for a deal they haven’t read vs. @LaylaMoran being told “the consensus from these gentlemen is that the country is sick and tired”.

So, no @KirstyWark, I don’t have to give credit to Johnson. He started pursuing a deal only when primary legislation forced him and a unanimous Supreme Court stopped him from gagging MPs. And he didn’t “reopen” the agreement. He begged to be allowed to revert to an earlier draft.

You’re about to sign a job contract. You were in two minds about the job in the first place (let’s call it 52-48), because this particular employer has a terrible reputation, historically, for lying and fucking over employees. 1/
But they have promised you AMAZING money and benefits. On the day you’re meant to give notice to your old job, THAT YOU LIKE A LOT, you notice that in the latest draft contract the phrase “your salary will be” was crossed out and “we hope to be able to pay you” substituted. /2
When you question this, the employer says something incomprehensible about “getting this done” and “no more dither and delay” and presses you to sign. You ask whether you can seek legal advice. The employer gets very offended and questions whether you want the job at all. 3/

I didn’t mean to pick on any BBC journalist, especially not someone I admire. The point I was making was that the “I voted Remain BUT” voter is STATISTICALLY one of the rarest creatures in our political landscape but is somehow overrepresented in every BBC sample.
Basically, the professional trolls and botfarms are targeting the BBC with this fictitious voter (just like they target twitter) and the BBC in its maniacal quest for a sort of inane chocolate-box balance (let’s have one of everything) falls for it every time.
Only that’s not balance. If you end up representing X and Y view in every programme, even though X and Y are wholly niche, you end up propagandising them as being mainstream. And pretty soon you create a feedback loop.

Leaving Brussels - belief on EU side that Corbyn letter to PM is a “game changer” mentioned to PM directly by Tusk and Verhofstadt. Why? Because the people that matter here are unconvinced that the PM can deliver a majority of Commons having been previously promised one.

1) 3 options, that's all on #Brexit
MPs are behind on this but the commentators are realising, its:
- May's deal
- No deal
- Remain
That's it, no other options for #Brexit. This gets us to a couple of points that would be a big help in moving us along
2) for programs like #politicslive, #Peston, #newsnight it would be really very helpful for the UK if you cut across any "we'd get a better deal" bullshit and simply asked "there's 3 options, no time or inclination for more negotiations, please pick one your party would support"
3) for those same programs, if you really must get Mogg, Patterson, IDS on then you could save a lot of time by saying "no deal may be as you say, but you blew your chance so if you can't get it through parliament what's the point in talking about it endlessly?"

Amazing. Minister wheeled out to defend deal on #newsnight, Rory Stewart, has nothing to offer except for fact that staying in EU would ‘ignore the referendum’. It would come after another referendum, you absurd man. If this is the best they can do, government really is toast
And the bollocks keeps coming. ‘We need to heal and bring people together’. Quite. Maybe start by not dismantling the economy or jobs, or outsourcing our trade and regulations to EU, or erecting barriers with NI and Continent? This deal fails on all counts. #newsnight
Now Stewart lying we have cherry-picked deal. This refers to totally non-binding political declaration. The legally-binding withdrawal treaty makes absolutely clear that we will stay in customs union till EU agrees we can leave and GB and NI will be separated. Enough. #newsnight
