THREAD: Now that I'm no longer in my professional role representing millions of MoveOn members--who have not yet made any collective endorsement in the 2020 presidential race--it feels like as good a moment as any to share my personal take: (1/16)
I'm enthusiastically supporting @ewarren for president.
(2/16)
@ewarren Everything I've seen in this campaign and her life’s work tells me @ewarren is the candidate who’s not only got a path to win the primary & general but is best prepared to be the transformational president we need to take on the acute & chronic crises facing the country. (3/16)
@ewarren She can be a transformational president b/c she rejects the notion that Trump is an aberration & understands he’s a symptom of the chronic underlying crises in the country--economic inequality, climate change, white supremacy, xenophobia, corruption, militarism and more. (4/16)
@ewarren She can be a transformational president b/c she lays out a bold vision, sees the points of leverage in a too often dysfunctional DC, understands that personnel is policy, isn’t afraid to take on entrenched power, and has shown she can deliver. (5/16)
@ewarren She can be a transformational president b/c she sees that economic justice & social justice & racial justice are deeply intertwined--and the only path forward is a people-powered movement that can channel grassroots power vs. a pol & econ system that benefits a select few. (6/16)
@ewarren And, yes, it’ll be transformational to have a woman who’s taken on systems of patriarchy and sexism her whole life in the White House. (7/16)
@ewarren With such a compelling field and a clear history-shaping imperative to ensure Trump’s defeat next fall, I’ll of course be working my heart out for whoever becomes the Dem nominee. (8/16)
@ewarren In particular, I have boundless respect and appreciation for @berniesanders and his extraordinary campaign. I got to see the power of Bernie's message up close in 2006 working on coordinated effort in VT when he first got elected to the senate. (9/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders I’ll never forget hearing from voters seemingly across the political spectrum in small town and rural Vermont, all along the Canadian border, about their support for Bernie--and seeing him get a resounding win. (10/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders At @MoveOn our team got to work with Bernie defending Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid, fighting to defend and build on the Affordable Care Act, for an end to US support for the war in Yemen and more. (11/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders @MoveOn In 2016 @MoveOn members overwhelmingly endorsed @BernieSanders in the primary and it was an honor to speak to thousands in Des Moines at a rally pre the Iowa Caucuses and to campaign for him all the way through the final days leading up to the California primaries. (12/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders @MoveOn In this election, I’m excited to keep watching the Sanders campaign advance progressive policies in the weeks ahead, will cheer Bernie on if he becomes nominee and president, & if he doesn’t, I know he’ll be an essential force stewarding a prog agenda through the Senate. (13/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders @MoveOn And there are many candidates in the primary right now who are also making a real contribution: @JulianCastro has inspired with a boldness on policy and consistency around centering real people in this campaign & (14/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders @MoveOn @JulianCastro @CoryBooker's focus on the power of love is a breath of fresh air and speaks to the America we need. And there have been glimpses into the possibilities of a @KamalaHarris presidency in her paid family leave proposal and elsewhere. (15/16)
@ewarren @BernieSanders @MoveOn @JulianCastro @CoryBooker @KamalaHarris All that said, for me the choice is clear:

I’m voting @ewarren for president and I hope you’ll join me.
