"There will be no checks between Northern Ireland and GB" says the PM to Corbyn - but he knows there will, for the first time be Export Summary Declarations, required under EU law, as a result of the new deal.
also, have I been saying "visceral" incorrectly my whole life?
PM said rather too candidly "The Scottish Parliament has no role in approving this deal" - errr, his WA Bill's own explanatory notes list 17 instances where legislative consent motion required (last column, Yes)

Scottish Government say more - 44 instances of legislative consent required on WAB - either way SNP will see it as a pre-election gift that PM has described this process as having "no role" in this important legislation

“They” - Law Officers?
“When” - 7 weeks of No Deal prep after Benn passes before extension requested.

I’ve never heard expression “filed vertically” before - but previously used when Mayor in relation to Heathrow...
But PM also gave fullest account of why he repeatedly said that he “will” meet October 31st, and promised eg to Con members, when he obvs knew Commons arithmetic - says he never could have imagined that Parliament would pass a constitutional “abomination” such as Benn Act...

Not yet seen the detail but pretty radical-sounding Brexit Party econ policies - certainly trying to appeal left / free broadband for all... using WTO EU exit to create and protect tens of thousands of jobs in “strategically important national industries” like steel and rail...
Unexpected. Farage just said that if the Johnson deal passes, it would be so aligned to the EU but without a voice/veto that eventually there would be a campaign to rejoin which if put to a referendum he has “no doubt” Uk would rejoin EU.
Farage trying to kipper the PM here by saying he would help him out if Johnson was to promise to drop/renegotiate his deal in favour of a FTA by July 1 2020

By the way also close to deadline on a further extension to future partnership negotiations into 21/22 and fisheries too

Well, at first it looked like all EU leaders were open to the 3 month extension mentioned in PMs extension request letter. But then France dug heels in. Staying with foot analogy: Macron wanted shorter extension to keep MPs feet to the fire.. EU proposed 2 tier extension /2
To please all. Phase one runs out November, in hope that will make gov/MPs concentrate and vote on newly negotiated #Brexit deal. Phase 2, running out 31 Jan would kick in if deal failed to be passed in phase 1. This was in place Thursday BUT then PM started push for elex /3

Boris Johnson says "there'll be no checks between Northern Ireland and GB" under the terms of the Brexit deal, which simply isn't true
Barclay told Lords that goods heading west to east would require exit summary declarations

HMG's impact assessment said goods going the other way would need import declarations and Entry Summary Declarations

These may well end up being "light touch" — but they're still checks
Downing Street says NI-GB exit summary declarations are not checks but "minimal administrative processes"

But as @JP_Biz et al point out, these forms, even if filled out and submitted electronically, will need to be checked

Finally we have text of a Brexit deal - though to recall we have to combine the old Withdrawal Agreement with the new Ireland protocol, and then add in the new non-binding Political Declaration. What are the main points to think about? 1/
First and most importantly, Great Britain could face a no-deal Brexit in 14 months time. That's the length of the transition period given it hasn't been extended since the original deal failed. An extension of that is possible but of course not guaranteed 2/
The UK then faces a minimum of 14 months abiding by all EU rules and regulations. But in the absence of another agreement there is a Northern Ireland backstop, where the province will be in part in both the UK and EU single markets 3/
