...that matched the description of the vehicle of the driver they were harassing but they allege I was teaching them their job. I asked if their job entails hanging about and indiscriminately accusing road users of theft of their vehicles? One of them said that’s what they do.
To put this in the right perspective. Nigeria’s SWAT team is hanging around on the highway seeking whom to victimize despite not having any distress call they are responding to. This explains the tales of woe of commuters in that state due to extortion & abduction of the innocent
This, however, is the IG of @PoliceNG’s doing. He repealed the protocol that kept these men at bay. Now they have lost their purpose and now rob innocent citizens for sport and nobody within the system is doing anything about it. Special Units are not a patrol team in sane climes
Even in pirated movies, you will never find a member of the SWAT team checking your car particulars. Special Units are not pure water sachets in the police system. They are specially designed/trained to engage kinetic violent crimes to save lives not endanger people for money.
Several drivers have been dragged to the station by SARS in EdoState because they believe Chasis & Engine number can never be the same despite the fact that every other paper is complete. They just needed an excuse to rob. @AcpIshaku kindly call their CP sir. We won't allow this.
The criminal activities of SARS in Edo State is enough to declare a state of emergency in the state. They are purely armed robbers and nothing more. Their commander must be prosecuted for all the crimes committed by his rogues on the daily. #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG
We are doing policing wrong in Nigeria. On the one hand the worst of criminals in the society are now legally armed to oppress others without limit. Secondly, no one is responsible for the actions of these deranged folks robbing without fear of the consequences. #Impunity
So if we remove the ambiguous rights of police to stop and search in Nigeria, you will find that police will seem to have lost its purpose in society. They no longer investigate but stereotypically assume everyone is a criminal until they are paid to think otherwise. #ChaosLooms
Delta State SARS rogue officers are currently robbing young boys at gun point on NNPC link road, Ekpan, Warri. Once they abduct people, they take them to Agbaro Police station or any other where they collide with DPOs to torture and extort. @AcpIshaku @PoliceNG_CRU #EndImpunity

In the 21st century @PoliceNG must employ intelligence in policing a society as dynamic as Nigeria’s. You can't stand by the roadside accusing every commuter of stealing their own vehicles nor searching people’s phones in order to find a fraudster. These are primitive approaches.
We know these rogue units are not fighting any crime but constituting a nuisance under the guise. The macabre dance of shame has been driven thus far and we will no longer take this anymore. We can not be seeking protection from those meant to protect us. #EndImpunity
