Panel: No Americans Need Apply - cis.org/Press-Release/… pscp.tv/w/cIGeiDFEWUVY…
CIS releases new report on employment discrimination. cis.org/Report/EEOC-la…
Paper suggestive that it is not immigrant workers being discriminated against; it is the American workers who are negatively impacted. @MarkSKrikorian
Economic theory states immigration has mixed effects on labor market. But there are negative effects which are not sometimes acknowledged.
2011 EEOC lawsuit example, a group of 80 workers were told: "All you Americans are fired." Discrimination in h-2A is endemic.
Author of report gives examples of foreign workers being favored over Americans. But also specific examples of Hispanic workers over black workers. This is systematic bias.
21 cases in report show the repetition of the discriminatory actions against low skill American workers who are replaced by Hispanic workers.
Is this just antidotal? If you argue there are zero effects on American workers you are out of touch with reality.
There are Hispanic EEOC complaints, but they are about harrassment and working conditions, not hiring.
Peter Kirsanow, serving his third term as a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights responds to the study.
Hearing 7-8 years ago on discrimination. All agreed immigration had a negative impact on black employment and wages. Blacks disproportionately in low wage jobs so high impact - 1 million fewer jobs due to illegal immirgants.
Congressional Black Caucus was radio silent on the proven impact on black workers.
Kevin Lynn, founder of US Tech Workers speaks on the impact of immigration on high-skill workers, similiar to the impact on low-skill.
Preference for hiring foreigners through H-1B, L, OPT for STEM jobs.
Gains made by women and minorities in STEM jobs has been negatively impacted.
Americans are technically capable, our education system is not inferior to foreign schools . . . it is a preference for cheap labor.
Examples of all US workers being let go while all H-1Bs maintained their jobs.
74% of all H-1B visas go to Indian nationals, 72 billion remittances go back to India every year. Willing to work for less, lower benefits, longer hours . . . we are asset stripping the US.
