It's either extension or revoke, because parliament can't pass the deal in two days, and we can't afford to leave with none.

If we don't get the extension we'll have to revoke.
They'll have to offer January 31st as well. No real choice, have they? Offer a shorter one and we can't do anything with it.
The withdrawal agreement will take months to get through parliament because of Saturday.
They've probably already decided on January but they want to keep us hanging for a bit. Don't take us for granted, we're all losing patience now.
Extension agreed on Monday
Election vote tabled on Monday night
Election vote Tuesday
Polling day announced Wednesday
Parliament dissolved the following week.

Polling day December 12th
That polling day December 12th feels wrong to me.
December 12th is the first Thursday they could hold the election, but if they don't mind having it on a Monday they could have if December 9th
It's going to have to be that second week in December between the 9th and the 12th

Seriously, though, how careless you have to be to end up with an election in the middle of December

Because what you're doing is trying to synchronise two different things. You've got the clocks and sunrise.

So what happens?
Alright. Say sunrise is at 7 o'clock. What happens when you put the clocks back. They go back an hour so sunrise is at 6 o'clock. And afternoon is an hour earlier as well.

Labour's not going to win the election, but the winning zone for remain would be if Labour gets 230.
If labour don't fall below that, it might be alright. If they do, it's all fucked.
I'm not thinking of Labour being able to form an actual government. Certainly not with Corbyn.
There's still a way to go stop Brexit itself. One step at a time. And the next step is to prevent the Tories forming a government
What happens if the Tories can't form a government is Johnson resigns. And as soon as they do that they will change their policy to a referendum.

See, I think people's language is part of the problem.
Let's set the scene. Johnson wants a general election. There's always a few days between the vote for an election and the dissolution of parliament
And people think Johnson will use that period between the vote and the dissolution to

"SNEAK THROUGH"

People are using the internet to write this shit, but they won't use it to look anything up.

You can't use those few days between the cote and the dissolution to pass complex legislation.
You cannot use it for that.

With all the talk of an early election, it's crucial to be clear on the possible timings. Here is a quick thread on the key points:

Under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act, parliament is dissolved on the 25th working day before election day. For a 12 December election, that's 7 November. So the latest day for a motion to dissolve by 2/3 majority is 6 November. (2/7)
One option being discussed is that the EU might give a 2-week extension with the option to go to 31 Jan if parliament fails to pass the deal bill and agrees an election instead. But there is very little time for all those steps: 6 Nov is Wednesday of the week after next. (3/7)
