I have quit my university job & will now focus on teaching & publishing research on saifedean.com, directly to students & readers.
Universities are a waste of time, talent & money for professors & students.
They are only good for administrators, whose jobs are obsolete

Cheap internet services can replace all the important functions that university administrators serve. Any student money not going to professors is wasted on obsolete middlemen who only have jobs because unis are inefficient bureaucracies subsidized by governments.

No university has a library anywhere near as good as the internet. Students who want to learn, and professors who want to teach have no good reasons to remain in a 17th century institutional relic with a 20th century parasitic bureaucracy. Cut out the middlemen!

Students looking for credentials & professors looking for fancy titles are the main demand for universities, not education. The more time I spent in university the more I realized the enormous opportunity cost of these stupid pointless signals & the rat-race training they create.

I have a lot to say about how dysfunctional universities are, but I usually kept it to myself because there's nothing more pathetic than someone moaning about a thing they choose to be a part of & because moaning gets in the way of action. Now I have acted & can say what I think!
