70+ people in Iraq were killed over the weekend while protesting corruption and poverty. Some were hit in the head by tear gas canisters thrown by security forces.

Students in Iraq are protesting economic hardship, defying warnings from the government that they will face "severe punishment." Security forces launched tear gas at them.
Iraq's government put Baghdad under curfew "until further notice" over anti-government protests that have killed 70+ people since Thursday. Many were hit by tear gas canisters fired directly into crowds.

Rights groups say another 5 protesters were killed today.
