Just sitting in this hotel club doing some work for #rolandmartinunfiltered and listening to Walter Hawkins sing “Thank You.” And as I look out across downtown Indianapolis, I just had to stop, reflect and thank God for my amazing life. 1/8 
I know what it felt like 20 years ago when I got divorced and God said “to leave everything.” I could have easily walked away with $300,000 or more, but God said “I am going to take your lower than you are now. And when I raise you all the way up, I will get the glory.” 2/8
I walked out of that marriage with $15K from a tax refund, my small 401K and my faith. I bought a house in Dec. 1999, but the person who promised me a job wouldn’t return my calls. I went through a ruptured appendix in 2000 at the DNC in LA, spent five days in the hospital & 3/8
my car was repossessed from the airport while there. I had no health insurance and accumulated nearly $100K in bills. In 2004, I got a foreclosure letter on that house and filed for bankruptcy. I recall getting a $200 freelance check and had no way to get to 4/8
the bank, and I had to walk 10 miles round trip. My legs ached, I was in pain and angry. “God said, ‘Did I not say I would supply all of your needs?’” “But I have no car and no one to take me to the bank!” God said: “do your legs work?” Me: “Yes.” God: “Like I said, I will 5/8
supply all of your needs.”I remained prayerful and trusted Him. That bankruptcy? All paid off. All debts? Gone and now debt free. That home I almost lost? Now paid off and my parents and sister live there rent free. This has allowed me to truly pursue my dreams without having 6/8
to make decisions based on money. At my 40th birthday, @jhoodmartin prophesied that I would own my network one day. Folks laughed. Well, I’m building a digital network as we speak. NONE of this happens without God, Faith in His word, and OBEDIENCE. 7/8
