Here is what is interesting about the drama surrounding @JussieSmollett: I don’t have to get caught up in running multiple stories of what “sources” are saying about the case. I can wait for the Chicago police to make their official statement. I’m very good with patience.
I’ve reached out to @JussieSmollett several times. Have not heard back. And I’m good with that. You’ve got folks saying he paid these guys to attack him. NO ONE has said that on-the-record. Again, let CPD do their job. Then DA Kimm Foxx has her job to do. Speculation is a waste.
It’s interesting how all of these cable news shows today were running with the “@JussieSmollett lied!” Headlines. Has CPD officially said a word? Nope. Will the truth come out? Yep. So folks need to learn to wait. It’s not that hard.

Hey @charliekirk11, do you also want the history books to teach about The Great Compromise of 1877, when Republicans struck a deal to let GOP'er Hayes become president. In exchange, they pulled federal troops out of the last three southern states. That led to Jim Crow. RT this.

Why am I sharing this now? Because I'm seeing DARVO behavior all over the place, particularly around discussions of #JussieSmollett. DARVO is one of the ways the media emotionally abuses Trump supporters. Once you see it you will recognize it everywhere.
Here's an example of DARVO from Corey Booker early today:

Deny - "info is still coming out"
Attack - "bigoted & biased attacks are on the rise"
Reverse Victims & Offenders - rightwing terror attacks are the problem, not fake hate crimes & media disinfo

There will be more of an outcry on the right over #JussieSmollett allegedly staging his own attack than on the drive-by killing of 12-year-old #TamirRice by cops who left him dying in the snow.
I'll elaborate: If it's true that #JussieSmollett staged his attack, that's horrible and reprehensible. But my point stands: there is no moral equivalence between one individual perpetrating a hoax and the racist and homophobic violence that elicits far less outrage on the right.
Tamir Rice is a perfect example of extreme injustice that receives little more than shrugs among right-wingers. Yet the Smollett case will have them jumping up and down crying foul. What kind of priorities are those?

Leaks out of the Chicago PD say that investigators believe @JussieSmollett staged the hoax hate attack with two African men connected to “Empire.” Whatever the end results show, I’d like to chronicle some of the responses at the time the news broke of the alleged brutal attack.
Jussie Smollett has powerful & influential friends despite the victim narrative he clings to. Democratic Presidential hopeful @KamalaHarris said that this was an “attempted modern day lynching” to much applause.

Huh. TMZ says one of the “persons of interest” being interviewed by police in the Jussie Smollett case is “an actor who has also appeared on Empire”. TMZ says cop won’t confirm if he’s one of the people in surveillance footage but other outlets say he is
The National Review compared the story Jussie told on GMA, the story he told police, and the story that was told in the initial TMZ story that broke the news. According to the NR, Jussie’s story has changed.

The Chicago Tribune says their police sources say the two men being interviewed in the Jussie Smollett case are the two individuals in the previously released surveillance footage. Another Chicago reporter has confirmed that one of them is “connected to the Empire show”

Here's a thought exercise for everyone. Imagine you're a telecoms billionaire but you were caught up in a scandal involving the awarding of a licence from a Department. Then imagine the same Department has a new, bigger State contract. How would you get the contract?
Hypothetically, if I was said billionaire, I'd use proxies. I'd buy a company already in the broadband field via other parties. I'd use investment cos - where it's not entirely clear where the money comes from.
