@qlee50 @antd Kenney seems to have been a study of Chinese lawfare, and its permanency. He’s taken over urban and FN platforms and eliminated the possibility of dissent. One of the main reasons I wrote my thread.

It’s time to be very concerned and turn up the volume on dissent.

Kenney wiped out municipal voice.

Kenney is attempting to eliminate all option to dissent from parallel and local governments.

This is time to sound the alarm 🚨, but most are focussed on the minutiae of what they lost personally.

@qlee50 @antd This is a watershed moment! Not only in Alberta, but for the nation. We either acquiesce to Kenney’s regime, or we fight back in protest at the loss of our right to determine our own political beliefs and values.

Kenney has set the stage by fomenting anger and rage at Alberta.

@qlee50 @antd He’s primed the rest of Canada to hate Alberta. Now he’s introduced severe limitations on Albertans ideological options.

Does the rest of the nation come to Albertans defence? Or do they recoil in disgust and hatred allowing Kenney to implement true authoritarian rule?

@qlee50 @antd When Social Credit did this in 1930’s, no one came to Alberta’s defence. It took 35 years to climb out of that authoritarian regime. Only to be thrust back when Klein was elected.

WW2 started 1939 and ended 1945. Alberta was abandoned and left to defend itself.

@qlee50 @antd When this happened in Ontario, under Ford, the rest of the nation’s progressives echoed Ontario residents protests. I don’t see that happening with Alberta.

I see so many openly condemning the 2/3 of Albertans who aren’t Dominionists to suffer because they “chose” this.

@qlee50 @antd The vast majority of progressive support in Alberta is urban. And Kenney just eliminated the option for progressives to elect and budget for progressive policy.

There is a disconnect with reality. Hate the policy of Kenney. But allowing it to go unchallenged is dangerous.

@qlee50 @antd Kenney has a choke hold on power in Alberta. He’s used lawfare and legislation to invoke elimination of dissent. In Canada, in a supposedly free country.

If that doesn’t scare the bejesus out of you, I’m not sure what will. Perhaps the knock on the door when they come for you?

@qlee50 @antd While political pundits are wailing about loss of funding in one area or another, they’ve completely missed the big picture. Kenney has effectively chopped off any hope of progressives to dissent at the municipal level as well as for indigenous people to protest O&G.

@qlee50 @antd All funding is conditional on compliance to UCP agenda. And he’s also legislated the ability to interfere in municipal decision making.

If that’s not making your blood chill, you aren’t focusing on the big picture.

It’s an all out attack on political freedom to be progressive.

Instead, most of the nation is smugly congratulating themselves for the most witty condescending tweet about Alberta citizen’s fate and how it’s deserved because 1/3 of Albertans voted UCP.

@qlee50 @antd When one leg gets an infection, you don’t chop it off or ignore it. You get medical treatment, antibiotics, to eliminate the infection.

We now have two provinces with identifiable diseases (fascist tendencies) and they both need help.

It’s not Trudeau dividing the nation.

@qlee50 @antd It’s Kenney and Scheer. Hate them, but don’t sacrifice the entire province of Alberta because of their malevolence. You do at your own peril.

What do you think the next federal election will be about? National unity. And Andy’s been building that narrative for over a year.

@qlee50 @antd The response of national political leaders is crucial. Will Singh, May & Blanchet ignore this or condemn Albertans to suffer under Kenney and UCP policy. Will May and Singh push even harder for climate change, exacerbating the ill will towards Alberta?

@qlee50 @antd Or will they condemn Kenney’s actions and support Trudeau to navigate the mine field they created by splitting the vote and engineering a minority government.

Anyone who doesn’t realize that NDP, GPC and Bloc hold the balance of power is deluding themselves.

@qlee50 @antd Will they pander to regional support bases, or put the unity of the nation as their top priority. A divided nation is incapable of implementing climate action. And that’s what their negative campaigning and attack on LPC has accomplished. They are as complicit as Kenney & Scheer.

@qlee50 @antd When authoritarians take over a province and eliminate progressive thought as an option, the rest of the nation needs to respond. And push back with all your might.

Same with Ontario, same with Quebec bill 21.

We are under attack and losing freedoms daily. Wake the hell up!
