There's a concept, a fallacy. The sunk cost fallacy. It is, if you've found that you've wasted time/money/other resources on something, people will believe that because they have sunk the previous resources into it they should continue to in the hopes of success.
So, if say, you're some resistard, meandering along, and happen to pick a fight with a piece of chocolate in some remote corner of Twitter, argue with him for a good hour or two, and then he baits you back into his timeline, since you already spent an hour arguing, you continue!
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you bait somebody into a trap.

The left is completely ignorant of the sunk cost fallacy. They have to be, or else they would realize that no matter how much money they throw into subsidizing healthcare, into welfare, into their policies...
... that it doesn't matter. Its never enough.

But because they already threw billions of someone else's money at the problem, what's a few hundred million more?

If you take any random liberal, and you bait them, and you get them to bite, and then you drag them into a trap...
... they will willingly follow you each and every goddamn time.

That's what's happening with impeachment right now, and why I consider it such a fucking joke.

Cocaine Mitch, make no mistake, that is one cold calculating vicious motherfucker right there. He is.
Why isn't he stopping impeachment, you ask?

Why isn't Lindsey Graham holding his own hearings?

What is going on you cry gnashing your teeth?

The Democrats of the House are being baited. The House GOP, these guys, these glorious fucking bastards, they have it figured out.
They have figured out exactly how to win by losing, in this situation.

A simple majority rules the House, and it is a SLIM majority, slimmer than it has any right to be. But with that simple majority, in lockstep, they can push through whatever they want.
It is exactly how @LarrySchweikart said just now. I retweeted him earlier, go check it out.

By protesting and raising issues with how the sham is proceeding, by introducing inevitably voted down amendments to the bullshit resolution, they showed just how ridiculous the farce is.
@LarrySchweikart In their doing so just now, they won. Pelosi's only hope was feigning bipartisanship. If she could get ANY Republicans signed on, she could claim bipartisanship. ANY (R) on her side would give her a shield.

But she's been denied her victory. She's been defeated.
@LarrySchweikart Now? NOW? She HAS to continue with impeachment. She has to violate the House Procedures, because that's the only way Schiff will do it. She has to eventually hold more votes that the GOP will continue to hold together as a firm block.
@LarrySchweikart McConnell? Graham? They don't have to do shit. They can just comment on the faulty procedures, sit back, and by the time it gets to them it will appear to be SUCH a partisan exercise that it will be defeated out of hand in the Senate. It won't even be brought as a full trial.
@LarrySchweikart Strategery, motherfuckers. STRATEGERY.

You don't win by achieving your objectives. You win by denying your opponents the ability to achieve theirs.

Today, the Democrats have all but ended their impeachment assault. It has lost any measurable form of power.
@LarrySchweikart Was their objective actually impeachment? Was it painting the GOP as so partisan that they would never split from Trump even in the face of damning evidence no one else can see?

It doesn't matter. There is nothing measurable they can achieve now with this round of impeachment.
@LarrySchweikart But do you know what they're going to do?

They're going to facecheck themselves right into the wall by keeping on with it.

Because they are completely ignorant of the sunk cost fallacy.

See? It's easy to tie all this together.
