The "flawed/imperfect leader" narrative is dangerous for a couple of reasons. First, it not only fuels Trump's Narcissistic Personality Disordered delusions of grandiosity/superiority,…..1/
……but it essentially implies that Trump is receiving divine/Godly positive reinforcement......which creates the perception that God didn't chose Trump *despite* his sociopathy, but that God chose Trump BECAUSE of it. 2/
And most importantly, this narrative not only puts Trump above the laws of man, it puts him above the laws of God. As a result, any attempts to hold Trump accountable to man’s laws (criminal code/constitution) are interpreted as a violation of God’s will.3/
When framed in this context, it would appear that there's almost nothing that Trump can do that will cause the Christian Right to turn on Trump because refusing to defend Trump (or the Republican Party), is a refusal to obey God.....4/
