There's a theory floating around right-wing Twitter now that *Giuliani* wanted to condition a WH meeting on an announcement of investigations into Burisma and 2016, but that there's no evidence that he was following Trump's orders.

Also, the idea that the Ukrainians weren't aware of Giuliani's demands seems not to be aging very well.
Also, well, er . . . Giuliani hasn't been shy about claiming he was doing it all for Trump.

Even though it has now gone to Connecticut's highest court and bounced off of SCOTUS, this case is still at an early stage.

At the trial court, we're just at the motion to dismiss. Some justices may prefer to nail down the factual basis before granting cert.
Put it this way: gun manufacturers would prefer a blanket pronouncement: you cannot sue under state consumer protection laws.

But one or more justices may be thinking less categorically—i.e., you cannot sue under state consumer protection laws, except in X, Y, Z circumstance.
For those justices thinking less categorically, developing the factual basis for the families' claims against Remington Arms would be helpful.

(Note: SCOTUS does not give reasoning for why it declined to take up a case, so this is pure conjecture.)

This is a dumb argument. The Sixth Amendment does not apply to House proceedings.

You can tell because the text of the Sixth Amendment starts "In all criminal prosecutions..."

Republicans are complete shit about the Constitution these days, aren't they?
I can't believe this has to be explained, but drawing up articles of impeachment is not a trial. Trial occurs in the Senate.

Even that portion of the process isn't a criminal prosecution. The Constitution explicitly states that criminal prosecution could *follow* removal.
GOP brain trust legal arguments from the past month:

(1) You can't impeach a duly-elected president.
(2) Testimony is not evidence.
(3) Hearsay is not evidence.
(4) The Sixth Amendment applies to drawing up articles of impeachment.
(5) The president cannot be investigated.

According to the charging document, Stone threatened to take Bianca from Credico in the same email he called Credico a rat and a stoolie for refusing to lie to Congress to corroborate Stone's previous lies.

"I am so ready. Let’s get it on. Prepare to die [expletive]."
(Credico also took Bianca with him for his testimony on the Hill. It's a thing.)
According to the indictment, Credico kept telling Stone to correct his congressional testimony (Stone had testified that Credico was his go-between with Assange/WikiLeaks when he actually wasn't).

This led to the Pentangeli situation.

Twitter seems to be banning or suspending accounts belonging to critics of the Chinese government. It started yesterday May 31th. Here is one report - I noticed a sudden loss of followers yesterday, I checked, it was mainly China critics. Twitter❤️🇨🇳 Amazing! @mouse @1GigiSims
This is happening as an effort to silence #China critics ahead of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, which is next Tuesday. Twitter is helping China do its dirty work to silence the legitimate opposition. Twitter has hit a new all time low! 👎👎👎
One other possibility that can't be discounted is that the #Chinese government is hacking into Twitter and is deleting the accounts of Chinese critics. I did hear reports in the past, that Chinese hackers were able to get into Twitter & do that.

Giuliani makes another major admission—Trump DID speak to Cohen about his testimony beforehand. “So what?” So the guy who lied to us about Russia DIDN’T tell Cohen to lie about Russia?? C’mon. Coaching, coordinating, directing—it’s all witness tampering—obstruction—territory.
Giuliani digs the hole deeper on @CNNSotu. Sidestepped Qs on Trump directing Cohen to lie. Said Trump was too busy running for POTUS to know details of Russia deal. It was COHEN’S project. So Trump talked to Cohen before his false testimony to GET info?? Right. (Tapper’s🤔face :)
@CNNSotu Giuliani did his Sunday morning propaganda best & still made key admissions: 1) Trump did talk to Cohen before his false testimony, 2) T knew abt Moscow project thru Nov election. So POTUS lied to hide he was compromised financially by Russia & had motive & oppty to tell C to lie

Critical context for this discussion: Robert Bowers, the suspect in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, was reportedly inspired in part by a conspiracy theory (peddled by right-wing media, pundits, & politicians) about Jews funding the migrant "caravan." 2/
This conspiracy theory has been around for a while. In April, Big League Politics (a right-wing website founded by former Breitbart employees) ran a piece falsely claiming that Soros-sponsored groups are funding the migrant "caravan." Fringe right-wing sites ran with it. 3/

Oh come on. I'm not a huge fan of Avenatti, but this outcome was never in doubt, with or without Avenatti. Pretending otherwise is denying reality. This blame game is pointless. Blame the GOP.
If Avenatti weren't there, the GOP would have seized on something else. It's WHAT THEY DO.
Oh, I see now. Looking around right wing Twitter I see all the usual suspects trying to plant the idea that Democrats "overplayed their hand." The technical term for this "BULLSHIT."
