GP Unions are nothing more than little mafias authorized by federal law to extort businesses, customers, shareholders, and taxpayers.
GP Unions had a purpose 100 years ago. Unions insisted on wage and hours reform, weekends, workplace safety, job security. Nearly all of these advances are now codified in federal and state laws and regs.
GP Unions' purpose today is to do the least work possible for the highest pay possible, slowing down the process so much that employers are forced to hire more unionized labor to meet business deadlines.
GP And I still do not understand the rationale that claims unions should exist because of workers' rights of free association but that employers' rights of free association don't matter so they can be forced to bargain with labor unions.
GP My solution is:

1. Let workers unionize all they want.

2. Allow employers to fire any/all workers for anything they want and to refuse to negotiate at all with unions.
GP Have your unions, but if you get too greedy, expect your employers to tell you to piss off, hire replacements, pay them better, and have you arrested/shot if you try to use violence to intimidate them or their employees.
