When faced with tough times for my mother's Parkinson's and a dear family pet going to sleep forever tomorrow (cancer), I'm making applesauce. No fresh berries for freezer jam so the next best thing is the last of my Fuji apples. When life gets tough, the tough cook comfort food.

The world doesn't need another take on "the value factor."

In contrast Jim Simons gets it exactly right: "Statistic predictor signals erode. It can be five years or 10 years. You have to keep coming up with new things because the market is against us." 25iq.com/2014/07/09/a-d…
Factor investing enhance returns in a index fund. Enough investors making irrational choices can create a factor that can be arbitraged for a period. The value of that factor can last as long as investors continue to make that irrational choice. That can work until it doesn't.
"Gradually the world wises up. You can run your Geiger counter over the rubble [looking for given factor] and it won't click." So you need to find a new factor.

Or completely change approach by using value as an analytical style (e.g., buy a stock like AAPL at a bargain price)

Greg Maffei in a paired interview today talks about the value of unscripted content: cnbc.com/video/2019/11/… Greg's comment is meta since the interviews of him and Malone are unscripted content. CNBC fails to fully capitalize on the opportunity by not providing a transcript.

Well as someone with #cancer, I must say, this sounds great. But didn't Obama put #Biden in charge of curing cancer in a "moonshot" in 2015? How did that go? Because we never heard a word about it.

So first #Biden tells us that when he's elected all the Republicans are going to have an epiphany because Trump is a #GOP anomaly (he is not), and now he's going to cure #cancer.

Amazing what plummeting poll numbers will do for a campaign.
As someone who is currently very sick who hasn't been allowed to eat food for several days, and has been too sick to even be on Twitter in days, I'm just going to say that if #cancer were that easy to cure, 17M Americans, myself included, wouldn't have it.

Tough medical day.

Many of you have very kindly asked how I am doing.

An additional diagnosis in recent weeks has been difficult. And I've had to fight with my health insurer for basic services they are now denying. This has made everything harder, of course.
1/
I am hoping to postpone new surgery until January, so the holidays aren't wrecked for us. Not sure how that will go.

The best thing that's happened is #NancyPelosi's re-election. Anyone who has a chronic illness like #cancer cheered this. We can count on her protection.
2/
The path to wellness should NEVER have to go through fear and fighting for care, but that's how it is for millions of Americans like me.

We need #MedicaidForAll. For now, protecting the #ACA is essential.
