Family and friends has nothing to do with competencies. For every position you think a family member is qualified to do, there are equally qualified & competent individuals who would do same.

Besides, it’s a government not family business.

Look at how families protect each other, look at how tough it is to sanction family and friends.

In our own small circle, we struggle to sanction our friends for the little things, it is the reason people speak against it in government cos it could lead to cover ups of crimes

When rape and defilement are committed by family and friends, they never make it to the courts. It’s a “family matter” so we know paedophiles amongst us walking free cos “family”

Statistics shows that majority of rape are committed by people we know as “family & friends”

You think the British or American ambassadors don’t have qualified members in their families or friends to fill all the positions available at the embassies? But they have strict rules in respect of these things. Even applying for certain opportunities are barred from families.

It’s okay if you don’t have a problem with @NAkufoAddo appointing family & friends but, don’t ever say it’s because his family are more qualified. There are millions of households in Ghana with qualified people who aren’t connected to government and as a result are denied jobs

How will you report your corrupt uncle or cousin who’s in government? I’m not saying People who aren’t family are angels, but I do know it would be easier to deal with them if they committed a crime. Easy to fire them, easy to hold them accountable, if it’s even includes jail!

Any principled person would not dabble in family and friends knowing it’s impact. when you throw morals out the window, “everything else works!

Perhaps, it’s the constitution that must make it explicit on these family and friend matter.
