Frustrated with a lack of results after following your fitness and/or nutrition routine for a while?

In a recent coaching call with my client he was expressing how he’s frustrated with not seeing certain results. He wants weight loss, better energy, better condition but he’s not seeing that yet. He KNOWS we are focused on a slower, progressive and sustainable plan...
but it’s still frustrating not to see the results. Basically his brain knows the value in building a foundation and being patient, but he STILL WANTS TO SEE RESULTS!! He's been working hard and he wants to see progress!!
I told him that "progress" was a matter of perspective and where you are looking.

If you’re looking ahead and the end product: lost weight, better condition, and more energy then no you haven’t seen much progress.
However, if you look back at where you started from, it's a different story!

You have been consistent with your workouts and nutrition strategies for the last few weeks. You are more aware of when and what you're eating. And you actually PLAN your workout each day.
Not only that, you successfully maintained this WHILE ON VACATION!

Just the fact that you’re THINKING about your nutrition and exercise every day is huge progress!

He agreed with me and started realizing how far he’s already come.
Getting frustrated with a lack of results is usually based on the fact that we are only looking ahead. We are looking at what we HAVEN'T achieved yet and how far we STILL have to go.
However, if you pivot 180 and look at what you HAVE achieved and how far you’ve ALREADY come you’ll probably see a TON of success.

Next time you’re struggling with progress, turn around and change your perspective!
