Anyone saying "the LibDems should unilaterally stand down candidates to help Labour" needs to wake up and face reality. The LD are attracting broad support: Tory Remain, Labour Remain and LD. A hint of "bowing to Corbyn" and Tory Remain support evaporates.
So the proposition isn't "win for Labour, neutral for the LibDems". It's "win for Labour, very bad for the LibDems". It will lose them Tory seats they otherwise would win.

A formal, adult pact with trade-offs on *both sides* on the other hand might not look like a sell-out!
You may adore Corbyn, but even Labour Leavers don't trust him on Brexit. Neither does almost anyone else. So the chances of Labour making additional inroads without a pact are slim to none.

Stop asking the LibDems to commit electoral suicide! Look at the actual situation.
