For all of us watching from a distance, there’s a tendency to forget about the children and families that don’t end up being reflected in the final numbers. But the terror and trauma that they’re feeling today doesn’t go away when the news gets reduced to a body count. (4/6)

Whatever the numbers may be on the news at the end of the day, remember that there are always more victims affected by a shooting than there are casualties who were hit by bullets.
