This is one of the more important Trump live-tweets, driving his followers' attention to the fruits of Rudy Giuliani's Ukraine dirt-digging campaign.
On March 20, John Solomon rolled out the first in his series on Ukraine in The Hill, which was built on Giuliani's research and interviews with corrupt Ukrainian prosecutors.
Among other things, Solomon reported that Rep. Pete Sessions(R-TX) had sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo the previous year in which he claimed Yovanovitch had privately disparaged President Trump and should be replaced.
That night, Hannity led with Solomon's report, and brought him on for an interview to discuss it. This pattern was replicated over the following weeks, with Solomon's reporting triggering attention from Hannity and the rest of the pro-Trump media.
During that March 20 segment, Republican lawyer Joseph diGenova said on air that Yovanovich “bad-mouthed" Trump to Ukrainians and should be “called home to the United States for consultation," setting off right-wing conspiracy theories that ultimately triggered her removal.
Here are some things we've learned since that March 20 Hannity appearance calling for Yovanovitch's removal.
1) Sessions had called for Yovanovitch's removal after speaking with the con men Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who committed to raising money for him and made him the beneficiary of a campaign finance scheme for which they have been arrested and are now facing trial.
2) Parnas and Fruman were working on behalf of Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash, who wanted Yovanovitch out because she was blocking one of his corrupt schemes. Firtash has ties to the Russian mafia.
3. Firtash and Solomon are both diGenova's clients, and he also has employed Parnas.
4) Parnas and Fruman were reportedly telling officials this project had Firtash's backing.
tl;dr The plot to remove Yovanovitch involved a range of players -- the president's lawyer, other Republican lawyers, Soviet-born con men, right-wing media figures, and a Ukrainian oligarch -- who saw her blocking their mix of political and financial gain.
