I get at least one if not two nominations per week for institutional fellowships & honorary Doctorate titles across the globe. The first question I ask myself is “How does this facilitate the work?” Do I really need titles to make things happen or sincerity & strategic focus? 🤔
In as much as I’m humbled by the honor & consideration, the ego is the least of my worries to pacify. I’m No One. I appreciate the nominations and awards but by the end of this year I will be shutting down all public appearances and speaking engagements. There are deeper issues.
We are making progress and no doubt many institutions will want to share part of that victory by contributing their quota with recognitions etc but we prefer not to be distracted at this point. It is not about individuals but the future of our children. Thank you all.
